A self described real estate junkie, Jeffrey Appel’s passion for real estate began after he purchased his first home and sold it just eight months later at a considerable profit. The thrill of the transaction had Jeffrey hooked and he began advising his Hollywood peers on the advantages of home ownership; subsequently becoming a freelance real estate agent. Frustrated with trying to find a good mortgage broker, Jeffrey started his own full service real estate, sales and mortgage firm in Los Angeles. In 1997, Jeffrey moved to New York and quickly became one of the top Mortgage Brokers in the city, closing a record setting 631 transactions in a single year.
Since 2004, Jeffrey has consistently been a nationally ranked top mortgage originator by the publishers of Mortgage Originator Magazine. In 2005, Jeffrey was named Senior Vice President of Preferred Empire Mortgage Company. In June of 2007, Jeffrey added the title of Director, New Development Financing to his accomplishments. His years in the New York market have brought him many other accomplishments including being named 2006 Residential Mortgage Broker Man of the Year by the Mann Foundation. Jeffrey has been featured in the cover stories of the March 2006 Real Estate Executive, March 2007 Development NY Residential and January 2008 Mann Report Residential by Mann Publications,. In 2005, Jeffrey (in partnership with the Real Estate Board of New York) launched the “Real Estate Master’s Series,” a professional panel discussion series featuring the leaders in the New York residential real estate industry. In addition, working as a founding faculty member for the Real Estate Board of New York’s exclusive NYRS Advanced Graduate Designation Course, he regularly teaches Real Estate broker training and continuing education on real property finance. Today, Jeffrey continues to provide world class service to prospective homeowners, co-hosts WPIX’s weekly real estate show Metro Residential, as well as a weekly radio show Eye On Real Estate on WOR News Talk Radio. Jeffrey is also a licensed New York Real Estate Instructor and holds Real Estate Broker’s Licenses in New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts and California. A southern California native, Jeffrey began his career working in entertainment special events. Starting off, Jeffrey’s worked as a production associate, freelance producer, and television publicist. After six years of freelance production work, Jeffrey was given the opportunity to produce the coverage of the Tournament of Roses Parade; for which he received an Emmy nomination.
